Edward’s role at Nextgen Ventures draws on his extensive experience in knowledge transfer and building IP-based businesses. He is actively involved in executing strategic initiatives, including establishing new partnerships. After starting his career as a tax lawyer, Edward joined Triade in 2004, where he transformed the organization from an investor into a network hub for science and entrepreneurship, working closely with UMCG and other key partners.

Edward has a broad background in financing startups, infrastructure projects (such as labs), CROs and fundamental research. At Triade, he served as a board member of Organ Assist (acquired by Xvivo) and Slimmer AI. He also gained hands-on experience at Polyganics as a founder (later acquired by Collagen Matrix). In 2013, Edward co-founded Nextgen Ventures with Matthijs and Peter, also representing the Triade Foundation as a cornerstone investor.
